Suge Knight was hit six times when gunfire broke out at Chris Brown’s Pre-VMA party, where Brown was allegedly the intended target.
Brown was hosting the fete at West Hollywood’s popular 1Oak nightclub where shots rang out at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday local time. While it was previously reported that Knight was hit twice, it later came to light that he was shot six times, according to TMZ.
Following the shots, Knight managed to exit the nightclub on his own and waited for an ambulance with police. He was eventually taken to a local hospital where he went into surgery. Knight is out of surgery and in the ICU. He’s expected to fully recover.
"People were screaming and yelling and most ran out immediately," the eyewitness told Us Weekly. "The floor was covered with glass from everyone dropping their drinks."
Another eyewitness, Katie Clendon, took to Twitter after the frightening sceene, claiming that the shots that hit Knight were meant for Brown. “Literally can't believe what I just witnessed. Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless,” Clendon tweeted. 'Prayers to all those harmed by this. Honestly still in disbelief this happened.”
Guests of the VIP party included Justin Bieber, Tyson Beckford, Young Jeezy, Lil’ Twist, E.J. Johnson, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas and The Game, who reportedly got into a physical fight with security guards.
Brown also tweeted about the incident, calling it “disappointing.”
