Chris Brown Apologizes For 'GMA' Meltdown, Says He Was Exploited

It hasn't been a quiet year for Chris Brown, who caused a stir when his naked photos hit the Internet earlier this month. After a disastrous appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday, the 21-year-old has apologized for his alarming behavior. Following an interview with Robin Roberts, the singer allegedly threw a chair through his dressing room window and stormed out of the building. "First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions, because I was disappointed with the way I acted," Brown said during an appearance on B.E.T.'s 106 & Park on Wednesday.

Brown did not hold back when it came to revealing what set him off—questions about his past relationship with Rihanna and the domestic violence case in 2009—explaining he thought he was there to discuss his new album. "I felt like they told us that just so they could get us on the show to exploit me. That's what I thought. So I took it very, very hard," Brown said. Roberts repeatedly asked Brown about the current state of their relationship, which made him visibly uncomfortable. "And I kept my composure throughout the whole interview, although you could see I was upset. I kept my composure and did my performance, and when I got backstage, I just let off, like, steam. I just had to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt like I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people keep trying to take it away from me. So, yes, I got very emotional, and I want to apologize for that."

Despite his antics, all press seems to be good press. The singer's new album F.A.M.E. is positioned to be the number one selling album in its first week in release. —EMILY EXTON
