Chord Overstreet may be leaving Glee, but that does not mean he's unemployed. The actor will guest star on a September 28 episode of The Middle, ABC's family comedy starring Patricia Heaton. Overstreet, 22, will play Ralph Wilkerson, an idealistic young teacher of fourth-grader Brick (Atticus Shaffer). Wilkerson's innovative and involved teaching style will clash the hands-off methods used by Brick's parents, played by Heaton and Neil Flynn, EW.com reports.
Recently seen cavorting with actress Emma Roberts, 20, at Disneyland, Overstreet joined the cast of Glee in its second season as Sam Evans but was not asked to return to the hit show in Season 3. "Well its been a good yr too bad its over," he tweeted when he learned the news. "Time for summer and starting fresh."
Heaton has also taken to Twitter to help spread the news to Gleeks everywhere. "For all you @GLEEonFOX fans, @chordoverstreet is playing Brick's 4th grade teacher this year on #TheMiddle!" she wrote.
