Chilean migrants pose with Joe Burrow's stolen property (Image: FBI)
The four Chilean illegal migrants who were arrested for robbing Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow‘s house posed with the stolen items.
On Dec. 9, 2024, Burrow’s home in Cincinnati had been robbed while he and his team won a 27-20 victory against the Dallas Cowboys.
On Jan. 10, Jordan Sanchez, 22, Bastian Morales, 23, Alexander Chavez, 24, and Sergio Cabello, 38, were arrested on Jan. 10 in association with the crime. Each faces several charges, such as participation in a criminal gang and possession of criminal tools. They are being held on a $250,000 bond.
They were pulled over by the police when a special agent with the Ohio State Highway Patrol saw suspicious luggage being carried out of a hotel in Fairborn into their vehicle. Upon being pulled over, the officer noticed the car smelled like marijuana and then searched the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered “two Husky automatic center punch pools wrapped in a cloth towel behind the glove box,” a Bengals hat, a designer bag and an old Louisiana State University shirt, which they thought belonged to Burrow.
Federal prosecutors also said that they may have taken more than $300,000 worth of Burrow’s luxury possessions.
In a new photo revealed in court documents, the men were seen posing in the jewelry they supposedly stole from the Bengals quarterback, including his personalized diamond-encrusted “JB9” and “#9” chains. They were also wearing his Louis Vuitton hats as they showed peace signs, thumbs-ups or a middle finger.
The men insisted that they had been on their way to Florida. It was later verified that all four men were Chilean nationals who were in the U.S. illegally.
They are now facing charges of transporting stolen goods interstate and falsifying records during a federal investigation.
Federal prosecutors also said that they may have taken more than $300,000 worth of Burrow’s luxury possessions.
Another photo shows several of his jewelry items, including his necklaces, laid out next to a pile of cash.
Back when authorities were investigating the property, they found a trail camera image of a man lifting luggage and walking through the wooded area behind the quarterback’s home.
Phone analysis allegedly showed that Cabello might have deleted photographs of the stolen goods and the back of the home during the traffic stop, which led to the charge of falsifying records in a federal investigation.
More cell phone analysis showed additional photos of the defendants in southeast Florida days after the robbery with luxury luggage and wearing the stolen jewelry.
