Chester Bennington’s Wife Talinda Bennington Releases Statement On Husband’s Death

One week after her husband, Chester Bennington died by suicide Talinda Bennington released a statement sharing her sorrow and pain over the matter.

“One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero – their Daddy,” Bennington began in her statement to Rolling Stone. “We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul.”

“The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive.”

The statement continued, “He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God Bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love.”

Talinda married the Linkin Park frontman in 2005. Together the couple has three young children – a son Tyler, and twin daughters Lilly and Lila.

The L.A. County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Monday that Bennington died by hanging.

Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda also released a brief statement on Friday addressing fans of Bennington’s and the band through Instagram.

“One week. Feels like forever,” Shinoda began. “I’m here for a couple updates.”

Shinoda shared a link that shows different memorial services for the late singer happening not only around the country but around the world. He also shared a link for those who are having suicidal thoughts themselves.

Additionally, Shinoda warned of “scumbag bootleggers and opportunists” who may be selling merchandise in order to profit off of Bennington’s death.

The caption ended, “Thank you for respecting our privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
