Cher Blasts Donald Trump’s Presidential Campaign Announcement

Last week, Donald Trump announced his decision to run for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. His campaign announcement was widely mocked for comments like, “Islamic terrorism is eating up large portions of the Middle East. They’ve become rich—I’m in competition with them. They just built a hotel in Syria—can you believe this?”  But perhaps Cher was one of his toughest critics.

Never one to hide her opinions, Cher took to Twitter to rant about the real estate billionaire and TV reality star’s announcement. “Donald Trump’s ego is so inflated, he might as well be Hidenburg,” she wrote. “In dictionary next to ‘Obnoxious A–hole, see photo of ‘The Donald.”

The iconic singer also took time to answer her fans question on Trump’s campaign. When asked if she preferred Ted Cruz or Trump, Cher said, “that’s like saying ‘would you rather have a Migraine or Throw Up.” Some of her fans did not agree with her views on Trump, however. “He’s a pretty successful business man & if he runs America as smart maybe we could be better off with his tactics? Not 4 him just sayin,” tweeted one fan. Cher responded by calling Trump a “loudmouth bigot.”
