The Spanish American actress and guitarist Charo has lost her husband of forty years. In an emotional post on her Instagram account, the star confirmed on Tuesday that her husband, producer and manager Kjell Rasten, had killed himself. “There are no words to describe what we are feeling now,” Charo wrote. “He was an amazing man, a great husband and the best father I could imagine to our son.”
In the post, Charo explained that Rasten had been suffering from health issues for a number of years, and stressed the importance of getting help for feelings of depression and/or suicide. “If anyone you know and love is suffering from depression or illness,” she said, “hold them close, tell them you love them with all your heart and that the world is better because they are in it.”
