Actress Charlize Theron has revealed that she never had any intentions of marrying former boyfriend Sean Penn,

In an interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show The Howard Stern Show, Stern  asked Theron for an update on her personal life and suggested that she had “almost got married to Sean.”

Theron responded, “What? That’s not true. No. I did not ‘almost get married to Sean.’ That’s such bulls–t. We dated. That was literally all we did.”

She added, “We dated and then we didn’t date. It was a relationship, for sure. We were definitely exclusive, but it was for barely a year. We never moved in or…like, no, I wasn’t gonna marry him. It was nothing like that.”

Theron closed by revealing that she does not plan to ever get married and does not feel lonely because she has her two children Jackson and August in her life.  “I haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time,” she said. “I never wanted to get married. Those are things that are not hard for me, because they’re innately my truth. I find people are somewhat perplexed by that, and also more with women, right?”

Theron and Penn had dated from 2013 and were rumored to be engaged a year later. The two broke up in 2015. After the split, there were rumors that Theron had ghosted Penn but these were shot down when Theron commented on the subject for the April 2016 issue of WSJ Magazine.

She stated, “There is a need to sensationalize things. When you leave a relationship there has to be some f—ing crazy story or some crazy drama. And the f—ing ghosting thing, like literally, I still don’t even know what it is. It’s just its own beast. We were in a relationship and then it didn’t work anymore. And we both decided to separate. That’s it.”

Previously to her relationship with Penn, Theron had dated actor Stuart Townsend from 2002 to 2010. The couple met on the set of 2002 movie Trapped.
