Charlie Sheen will executive produce and be top billed in Mad Families, a new comedy film coming from Crackle, Sony’s digital platform.
Sheen will play Charlie Jones, a “man-child with a hear of gold.” Fred Wolf will be directing the film, who also directed Crackle’s last original film Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, which garnered over two millions views in the first two weeks of streaming. Leah Remini, Finesse Mitchell, Juan Gabriel Pareja, Charlotte McKinney, Naya Rivera and Efren Ramirez will costar.
The film follows three families of different background who end up at the same camp site for the Fourth of July. When they encroach on each other’s space and neither side refuses to leave, they try to figure out how to work together. When that fails, the families create a series of competitions to determine who gets to stay and who has to go.
Sheen and Wolf worked on Sheen’s role together after the actor signed onto the project.
