Charlie Sheen‘s legal woes appear to only be getting worse, as the LAPD is reportedly investigating him for felony threat.
The LAPD has launched a criminal investigation into Sheen after his former fiancée Scottine Ross sought a protective order against the Two and a Half Men actor, reported NBC News. On Tuesday, Los Angeles police served a search warrant to The National Enquirer in New York for the audiotape in which Sheen allegedly admits to lying about his HIV status and threatening to kill Ross.
As of yet, the magazine’s parent company, American Media Inc., has no intention of handing over the audio, believing that the warrant, “violates federal and state law prohibiting the use of search warrants against media companies who are reporting news and information.”
Back in December, Ross filed a lawsuit against Sheen in Los Angeles Superior Court. She is suing her ex for assault, battery, false imprisonment and failure to disclose his HIV-positive status. She is seeking $1 million in addition to earnings Sheen made on TV show Anger Management – terms she has claimed that Sheen had agreed to in an unofficial deal.
In her lawsuit, Rossi claims that her relationship with Sheen began in 2013 when he offered to pay her $10,000 for sex. She accepted, and their relationship soon turned romantic. Rossi alleges that she had sex with Sheen five times before learning that he was HIV-positive upon discovering his medications.
Rossi further claims that Sheen was physically and emotionally abusive towards her throughout the duration of their relationship. According to her lawsuit, Sheen would often become “violent and abusive” while drinking and doing drugs. Rossi alleges Sheen would push her, put her in chokeholds, lock her in the bathroom, and point unloaded guns at her and pull the trigger.
At one point during her relationship with Sheen, Rossi says she became pregnant and was told that he “did not want his child to have his blood type (HIV-positive) and that she should have an abortion.” Rossi claims she was ultimately forced to comply with Sheen’s wishes.
Sheen has denied all of Ross’s allegations through his attorney.
