Charlie Puth & Adam Levine Pal Around On ‘The Howard Stern Show’

Charlie Puth and Adam Levine were both guest stars on the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday and spent some time palling around after their interviews.

Puth last visited the show back in 2022 and shared that since then he has gotten engaged to Brooke Sansone.

“I looked back at the footage, and I was smiling because … I knew I was going to ask her soon and it was like right after your show,” Puth shared with Howard Stern.

Before proposing, Puth made sure to get her parents blessing “out of respect.”

He shared the details of the proposal, explaining that although he was confident in his decision, he was also anxious. Hours before, he decided to buy some pizza after he picked up the ring. He recalled, “I had a Sicilian slice, had tons of heartburn, had to take a lot of Pepcid, and watched the longest episode of Suits ever.”

He specifically proposed at 11:11, as it is Sansone’s favorite time of the day, and shared, “I just said, ‘It’s 11:11, what do you always wish for?’ And she was like, ‘To be married to you.’ I’m like, ‘Well that’s a great answer, will you marry me?’”

While the two men were chatting, Stern thought that Puth looked distracted and asked him if he was listening to music in his head. Puth was shocked by this saying, “How did you know that?”

Puth shared that sometimes he will drift out of a conversation because of this. Once while watching Sex and the City with Sansone, he came up with a song idea. “She was like, ‘Are you okay? You’ve been staring at the ceiling for two and a half hours … just thinking.’” Puth remarked, “She can read my mind … and apparently so can you.”

Levine spoke to Stern about the origins of Maroon 5. One of Levine’s friends was the son of Graham Nash, who helped Levine out after he discovered some songs he was working on.

Levine shared, “He put us in with some amazing people and helped me make a demo, and that demo wound up being the demo that got us our second record deal. He was hugely integral in us getting a kind of second chance because we wouldn’t have had any money to make the demo, we got signed off of so that was huge … I will always be eternally grateful to [Graham].”

Levine offered to pay Nash back for the money he had spent on the studio time and give him a gold record.

“I don’t think he cared about any of that and that was kind of a proud moment when I was able to kind of repay him — and I did give him a gold record,” he revealed.

Levine also performed on the show in honor of Sinéad O’Connor. He sang her version of Prince’s song “Nothing Compares 2 U.” He shared that he believed that O’Connor did the song better than Prince stating, “They added these like really kind of cool chord changes and melodic shifts and things that weren’t there originally.”
