Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam revealed that he is willing to make an appearance in the upcoming Anarchy spinoff series Mayans — even though he believes his character Jax Teller is dead.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Charlie Hunnam Teases Spinoff Cameo

Hunnam was spotted hiking in Runyon Canyon on Wednesday, and stopped for an impromptu interview with TMZ to speak about the upcoming Sons of Anarchy spinoff.

When asked about the Mayans spinoff, Hunnam admitted that he did hear about the new series but he doesn’t know any specific details.

“Last I saw… Jax Teller was dead,” Hunnam said. Though, when the reporter pointed out viewers didn’t actually see Jax die, Hunnam admitted he hasn’t watched the final season of the show yet.

“I actually haven’t seen the last season of Sons yet, I didn’t see how it ended,” Hunnam laughed. The actor went on to explain he doesn’t usually watch his own shows, he would rather get some distance from his characters.

“Listen, if they want me to do a little dream sequence, I’ll do a little dream sequence,” Hunnam teased, when asked if Mayans would bring Jax back. “I’d do anything for Kurt [Sutter]. I love that guy…But I think I’m dead.”

“When I got the script and it said ‘Jax Teller died,’ that was pretty definite,” the actor added.

The official synopsis for the Mayans series was released this month — and it specifically mentions Jax Teller’s death.

“Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border, struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves,” the synopsis states.

Mayans MC is set to begin filming its pilot in March 2017.
