Channing Tatum Is Sexiest Man Alive

It's that time of the year when People puts out their Sexiest Man Alive issue, and the winner this year, joining the ranks of such heartthrob celebrities as Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper and George Clooney, is … first-time winner and Magic Mike star, Channing Tatum!

Tatum was reportedly … er … surprised by the good news. "My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'" he said, reports People. "I told [my wife] Jenna [Dewan–Tatum] after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked," he said.

"Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now," Tatum said of his wife, who also shared a few words about her famous hubby. "People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don't know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is. He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get," Dewan-Tatum said.

Tatum's 21 Jump Street costar Jonah Hill, 28, also chimed in on his pal's new title. "@channingtatum you've always been the sexiest man alive to me! (Congrats pal!)" Hill posted on Twitter, along with a pic of him licking the cover of Tatum's People magazine.

Tatum, who has recently starred in 21 Jump Street, The Vow and, of course, Magic Mike, with fellow hotties Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello, can next be seen playing Captain Duke Hauser in the highly anticipated G.I. Joe: Retaliation, directed by Jon Chu and also starring Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and Jonathan Pryce.
