Chance the Rapper, in a recent interview, opened up about a possible project collaboration with Kanye West.

Chance The Rapper & Kanye West

Chance the Rapper’s latest mixtape, Coloring Book, was coming together around the same time that West was working on The Life of Pablo. The close pair used each other as sounding boards throughout the creative process – but also put their minds together for a project called Good Ass Job.

“The making of my album and the making of his album were very separate but very connected, as we had a lot of discussions together,” Chance told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “The main thing we want to connect on is this project called ‘Good Ass Job’ – that’s a thing that we talked about a long time ago, and I think everything that we’ve been working on has become a part of it.”

“We bounced ideas [off each other] in the traditional way – I literally sampled ‘Ye, y’know?” Chance continued. “He’d given me all the pieces that I needed to make what I wanted to make. And so more than making a traditional project, or anything like that, he just wants to help me make the dopest s–t that I want to make.”

Chance the Rapper sees himself continuing to drop mix tapes – and getting them into the hands of his fans for free.

“I like making mixtapes. I might make a tape with Jay Electronica soon. I might make a tape with anybody…Let me stop doing that,” he said, adding, “Since I was 15-16, passing out mixtapes outside of my high school, I always gave them away for free.”

It seems possible that Chance the Rapper could collaborate with singer Justin Bieber in the future, as the rapper has nothing but good things to say about him.

“That’s my f–king boy. He’s the s–t,” Chance said. “He’s just very dope at everything he does, at writing, he’s an amazing vocalist.”
