Céline Dion, who took a break from performing her Las Vegas show to care for her husband René Angélil has returned to the stage at the request of her husband.
After taking a year off to be with her husband of 20 years, who is suffering from throat cancer, Dion has decided to take Angélil´s advice and go back to performing.
“He wants me strong, he wants me back, and that’s beyond partnership for me, that’s beyond a husband, that’s beyond a manager,” Dion stated in an interview with The Insider. “René’s part of every decisions we make now, and changes, and, and the artistic production of it, and I’ve never doubted his strength through the years, but I have to say that to see him such, being such a champion.”
The legendary singer made a triumphant return Thursday at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum in Las Vegas. She posted a picture of her glamorous shoes on Twitter before going on stage saying, “Memo: don’t forget the shoes before going on stage!”
Later that evening she tweeted again, thanking her fans for their support. “Thank you for all your love. Tonight was not a new day, tonight was not really a new show. Tonight was a new beginning.”
