Gangnam Style is sweeping the Internet ever since Korean rapper Psy (a.k.a. Park Jae-sang), 34, launched his bizarre YouTube pony dance tune on July 15, and it quickly became the most catchy dance craze to inexplicably possess minds and bodies the world over since the Macarena cursed the mid-'90s.
The original Gangnam Style video has recently passed the 280 million views mark and is the most "liked" video in YouTube history, according to GOOG, and it has launched a veritable onslaught of parodies, imitations and bandwagoners, like Ellen DeGeneres, who brought Psy out to teach guest Britney Spears — as well as America — how to dance Gangnam Style. Only Simon Cowell, who was also a guest of DeGeneres' on the episode, had the good sense to sit the instruction out on Ellen's couch.
Even talent manager Scooter Braun, who has made an extremely lucrative career off of discovering YouTube talent like Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen, revealed his impatience to snatch up Psy. "I have to sign a contract with him for the world!" Braun said, reports Business Week.
