Celebs Play Dead For World AIDS Day

Tomorrow is World AIDS Day and to raise awareness about the perils of this disease, many celebrities will be dead tomorrow — digitally at least. Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Usher, Jennifer Hudson and a host of other entertainers will sign off of Twitter and Facebook to show their support for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

A number of celebrities posed in coffins in an ad campaign promoting World AIDS Day, which was created in 2004 by the United Nations AIDS committee. Keys addressed the graveyard photos in a Twitter post Tuesday afternoon, writing, "People might feel funny about the coffin images. But thats the point! We r digitally dying so real people who r actually dying don't have 2!"

The celebrities will not return to the Web until $1 million has been raised for Keys' charity, Keep A Child Alive, according to USA Today. Many of the stars have also posted "Last Tweet and Testament" videos. –ISHITA SINGH
