Memorial Day inspired celebrities to take to Twitter on Monday to give thanks to the service men and women who serve the United States, and to wish everyone a happy day.

One of country music’s biggest couples, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert both tweeted about the American holiday. “Happy Memorial Day everybody!!!” wrote The Voice judge. Lambert added to her husband’s sentiments, tweeting, “Happy Memorial Day. Thanks to all who serve and have served. We can’s ever say that enough.”

Fellow country star Carrie Underwood tweeted, “Good morning! Today, we remember those who have served our country. Thank you to our military members. I declare today #HugASoldierDay.

Musically inclined actress Lea Michelle wrote on Twitter, “Happy Memorial Day everyone! Hope you all have a great and beautiful day today :).” Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet wrote, "Thank you for your service and sacrifice men and women in uniform. Now lets all eat some macaroni salad."

Newsroom actress Olivia Munn tweeted, “THANK YOU to the men and women in our armed force!!! Thank you for your courage, bravery and dedication. “High-FIVE-For-Life. And, future Tonight show host Jimmy Fallon echoed her sentiments, simply writing, "Happy Memorial Day to all of the men and women who have served our country.”

Kendall Jenner, the reality TV show star, offered a personal anecdote in her holiday tweet. She wrote, “just wanted to say Happy Memorial Day! my grandpa served our country in WW2 and made it home to meet my grandmother. take a moment to think of these people and thank them! RIP William Hugh Jenner.”
