The holiday was not created by Lucasfilm, but many fans have chosen to celebrate the iconic film series on this day. It originated from the pun, “May the Fourth be with you,” from the Star Wars catchphrase, “May the force be with you.”

Many celebrity fans posted fantastic throwbacks. Melissa Joan Hart shared a snap of when she cosplayed Princess Leia. “May the Fourth Be With You! #starwarsday,” she wrote in the caption.
Christopher Lloyd also shared a photo from the Mandalorian, where he sat in the control room before the bounty hunter. “May the 4th be with you all,” he wrote.
William Shatner also shared a post and replied to a tweet where someone said, “Star Wars got its own day. When does Star Trek?”
Shatner replied back, “Star Trek is celebrated 364 days of the year. Give them their day.”
