CBS Accused Of Cutting Brock Bowers’ ‘Trump Dance’ After Raiders Touchdown
CBS has been under attack after the netwrok was accused of editing out Raiders tight end Brock Bowers’ Donald Trump-inspired dance on Sunday.
During their game with the Miami Dolphins, Bowers celebrated a 20-yard touchdown run by performing the infamous Trump dance.
Fans saw the player’s performance on the televised game broadcast, and the NFL also shared a clip of Bowers’ touchdown and dance on social media.
However, Bowers’ moves were chopped from CBS’s X post, and the footage cut directly to Raiders owner Mark Davis celebrating in his suite at Hard Rock Stadium.
While it remains unclear if the cut was deliberate, angry fans claimed that the dance was left out on purpose to dismiss Bowers’ celebration.
Moreover, CBS’s decision has become controversial in light of a muddled locker room situation following the game—a 34-19 loss to Miami.
When reporter Safid Deen asked the 21-year-old about his dance moves during an interview in the locker room, Bowers said, “I’ve seen everyone do it … I watched the UFC fight last night, and Jon Jones did it. I like watching UFC, so I saw it and thought it was cool.”
Deen claimed that Bowers’ public relations team ended his availability after that answer.
Later that afternoon, the Raiders uploaded a postgame compilation featuring interviews with multiple players but did not include Bowers. The tight end’s omission from the video was bewildering as he was fresh off the best game of his career.
President-elect Trump has made quite the mark on the 2024 season, and Sunday’s dispute over the so-called “Trump Dance” was not the first time one of the league’s more popular players was ensnared.
Recently, San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa was fined for flaunting a MAGA hat during a postgame interview.
The NFL purposefully delayed Bosa’s sanctions until after the election results.
