Casey Kasem’s remains are still a point of contention between his surviving wife Jean Kasem and his adult children, who claim the widow is relocating their father’s body to an unknown location.
Kasem’s body is currently located at a Montreal funeral home, but according to investigator Logan Clarke, it will soon be headed to Europe.
"We have been told by some reliable sources that it's in Norway, but we don't have a confirmation," Clarke, who was hired by Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem, told the New York Daily News.
The Santa Monica Police Dept. has been investigating whether or not Jean Kasem committed elder abuse while looking after the famed radio DJ as his health continued to fail. Logan suspects that Jean Kasem is looking to hide her potential crimes from authorities.
"She knows there was only one autopsy done, the one that she requested, and she's hoping that pathologist will say things the way she wants them to be said,” alleged Clarke. “She's now trying to keep the body as far away as possible from the children and any authority figures. She's trying to torture the kids.”
"I truly believe Jean is following her same sick pattern. It goes back to her stealing Casey from his Santa Monica nursing home. She's now trying to salvage whatever defense she has for her elder abuse," the investigator continued. "We're trying to do something fast because this is happening right now.”
Casey Kasem passed away over two months ago at the age of 82, two weeks after he was admitted to a hospital with an infected bedsore following his removal from Jean Kasem’s custody. Kasem’s children had been fighting for months to take over control of their father’s healthcare from his wife.
Kasem’s children are now fighting to obtain a court order that would keep their father’s body from traveling to Europe without their consent, according to TMZ.
