Casey Kasem was located along with his wife, Jean Kasem, in Washington state by local authorities on Tuesday.

Kasem, whose whereabouts have been unknown to his children, was found visiting people along with his wife. Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies had been conducting a welfare check at the address, which had be provided by California Adult Protective Services, according to CNN.

The authorities left the address upon deeming that there was no threat to the former DJ. They’ve not yet revealed the address where Kasem was found.

Now that Kasem and his wife have been located, Kasem’s children are closer to taking their patriarch into their care. Earlier in the week, Kerri Kasem had successfully appealed to the courts to grant her a temporary conservatorship over her father in light of his wife’s decision to take him away without informing anyone where they were heading.

"We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home," Kerri Kasem said in a statement Wednesday night. Kerri Kasem’s representative Danny Delaney, who said that she still has "grave concerns about his medical care," added that “The Kasem family will do everything in their power to bring their father home.”

Kasem, known for his American Top 40 radio show, has been suffering from Lewy body disease, which often causes dementia. He has been retired since 2009.
