After 10 years of marriage and two children, Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix have officially split.
When the two met through Summer’s brother, Joaquin Phoenix back in 1995, the sparks flew and the two became inseparable.
For several years, they were just “flirty friends,” Summer once told The Telegraph, and eventually started dating in 2000.
The two married in 2006 and are parents to sons Indiana, 11, and Atticus, 8. “Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix have amicably separated. They remain very close friends,” Affleck’s rep told the People magazine in a statement.
The couple was avid supporters of PETA but over the years, the two’s public appearances were few and far between.
The news of the split comes only nine months after his brother, Ben Affleck split from his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Garner.
