Carrie Underwood Gives Update On Health And Music To Fans

Carrie Underwood pened a letter to fans giving them an update on her life following her fall that caused a broken wrist and her face needing more than 40 stitches last November.

She updated fans on her website saying that she’s “healing pretty nicely” and that she also has a new single and an album coming out soon.

“My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there,” Underwood wrote. “And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.”

She also noted that this setback also has some “silver linings” because it allowed her to spend more time with her husband Mike Fisher and their son Isaiah, especially watching Fisher play hockey for the Nashville Predators. “I’ve been calling it “forced relaxation.” Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down. It also means I’ve been home to support my favorite hockey player coming out of retirement! I hope you’re all ready for more silly posts of me at Preds’ playoff games! One more run for the Cup! Go Preds!”

Underwood then goes on to announce that she has been working on new music during this whole healing process. “The other thing I’ve been up to over the past few months is of course making new music,” she wrote. “I’ve been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but I’ve also been able to be creative in a way that I’ve never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering.”

She also revealed that her new single will be out on April 11, and is titled “Cry Pretty.”  “The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can’t hold them back. It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life,” Underwood explained.

As for her full album, she has not announced a release date, however she did admit that they are already in discussion for a tour. She did not share any more details as it’s “a blog for another day.”
