Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will have a joint funeral, honoring their extraordinary bond.
Reynolds’ son Todd Fisher confirmed that the mother and daughter will share a memorial service. He said there is currently no date and no confirmed location for the funeral, but plans are in process.
“It’s what we want to do, but we’re still working on the mechanics,” the grieving son and brother told the Daily News.
“I’m going out right now to look at places,” he said. “We like the idea, if it’s at all possible. I think it’s appropriate.”
The Star Wars actress passed away on Tuesday, and her mother died the next day. Many said that she died from “a broken heart” because of the loss of her daughter.
Fisher died due to a massive heart attack, while her mother suffered a stroke while planning her daughter’s funeral.
Reynolds’ son said in an interview that his mother expressed a desire “to be with Carrie” after her death. “I don’t think she meant it quite like that but in 30 minutes she went to go see her again,” he continued. “I think she wanted to be with her. I’m not joking when I say she left to be with her and I’m happy about that. That’s the only thing I’m happy about.”
He also made a post on Twitter calling Fisher and Reynold’s mother-daughter relationship “a beautiful love story.”
