Carrie Ann Inaba has announced that she will be taking a medical leave of absence from The Talk.
In a Monday video shared on Twitter, Inaba said, “So I wanted to let you know personally that I have decided to take a leave of absence from The Talk to focus on my wellbeing. I know you guys understand health is the most important thing.”
“I appreciate the support from you and my family at The Talk and hope to be back soon!” she captioned the post.
Inaba, who’s been on the talk show since its ninth season, has been very open with her chronic health struggles in the past. In 2007, she was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, a condition that narrows the spinal canal, causing her numbness and pain. Years later in 2013, she was also diagnosed with the immune disorder, Sjogren’s syndrome. Additionally, she suffers from fibromyalgia and is iron deficient.
Inaba’s medical leave came two weeks after Sharon Osbourne exited The Talk after an on-screen dispute and allegations of racism against her.
