Carmelo Anthony is separating from his wife La La Anthony, whom he has been married to for nearly seven years, after it was revealed the New York Knicks star allegedly had an affair with a stripper and knocked her up.

Carmelo Anthony and Wife La La Split After Cheating Rumors

Although the couple doesn’t yet have plans to officially file for a divorce, according to TMZ, the Anthonys are living separately following a rough few months involving Carmelo’s uncertain career with the Knicks.

Carmelo, 32, and 37-year-old La La were married in 2010, nearly six years after they became engaged on Christmas Day 2004. The couple have one son together, 10-year-old Kiyan.

In 2014, La La sat down with Uinterview for an exclusive discussion of her book ‘The Love Playbook,’ in which she described the wonders of her marriage and her opposition to pre-nuptial agreements, among other things.

According to TMZ Sports, the unidentified woman the Knicks forward allegedly cheated on his wife with works as a dancer at a gentlemen’s club in New York. The dancer is reportedly claiming Carmelo is the father and is requesting him to pay for her medical expenses and other costs associated with her baby. The woman claims she is six and a half months into her pregnancy.

La La moved out of her and Carmelo’s shared home in New York City and into her own apartment, according to reports.

“They have been fighting for about a year,” a source close to the couple told the New York Daily News. “The marriage has always been a rocky one, so this is no surprise.”

Indeed, the longtime couple have wrestled with rumors of marital troubles in the last few years. In 2015, they stood smiling at New York Fashion Week following reports that the athlete had been cheating on La La.

This all comes amid uncertainty as to whether Carmelo will re-sign with the Knicks or be traded to another NBA team next season, as team president Phil Jackson said was possible in a press conference Friday.

On their anniversary last year, La La had sweet words for her husband, sharing a wedding photo on social media and writing, “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live that long minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”

La La and Carmelo first started dating in 2004 when she worked as the host of MTV’s ‘Total Request Live.’

Their wedding was featured on a VH1 reality special, ‘La La’s Full Court Wedding.”
