Carly Chaikin On Season Two Of ‘Mr. Robot,’ Rami Malek, Her Eye Makeup [VIDEO EXCLUSIVE]

Carly Chaikin, who stars on the USA Network’s Mr. Robot, thinks that season 2 will really give viewers a better understanding of her character, Darlene.

In Mr. Robot, Chaikin’s character Darlene is the sister to Rami Malek‘s Elliot. She works as a hacker for society, the anarchist group run by Christian Slater‘s Mr. Robot, who ultimately recruits Elliot –who still serves as a security engineer by day – to join society as well. In season 2, Chaikin says that Darlene and Elliot’s relationship is explored.

“We really get to find out who she is and why she’s doing what she’s doing and more about her backstory and relationship with Elliot, and navigating the world as it is today in Mr. Robot world — and dealing with the aftermath,” Chaikin told uInterview in an exclusive interview.

Playing Malek’s sister isn’t too much of a stretch for Chaikin, who says that they enjoy a sibling-like relationship offset as well.

“In real life, Rami really is like my brother,” Chaikin revealed. “We have a very brother-sister relationship and he is such a goofball and so much fun and everyone is very lighthearted on the show and we all joke around and laugh. He’s such a talented actor and working with him is so great.”

Much has been made of Chaikin’s makeup in Mr. Robot, which has enjoyed an incredible amount of critical success. According to Chaikin, the makeup look is just her – plus a little extra.

“It was something that I kinda brought. We knew that she would have makeup like that, but that’s kinda how I’ve always done my eyes in general,” she explained. “So, we just kinda enhanced that and heightened it.”

Mr. Robot is nominated for six Emmy Awards for its first season. It is currently in the midst of its second season.
