On Monday morning, Cardi B took to Instagram Live to address rumors about the status of her relationship with Offset and confirmed that she is now a single woman.
In the candid live session, Cardi B admitted that she had hesitated to make the split public, and explained, “I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to… not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world.”
She felt it was time to share the news.
“The last time I got on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign,” she said.
The rapper expressed excitement for a fresh start and a new chapter in her life.
“I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open,” she continued. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”
Last week, fans noticed that Cardi B and Offset had unfollowed each other on Instagram, which ignited speculation about a potential breakup.
Cardi B further fueled the speculation when she shared cryptic posts about outgrowing relationships and prioritizing her well-being.
This is not the first time Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has faced challenges.
In 2020, Cardi B filed for divorce, which was later called off. Two years prior, Offset was involved in a public cheating scandal, which led to a public apology to Cardi B.
In an August interview with the podcast Way Up With Angela Yee, Offset admitted he lied about the allegations he created about the scandal.
