Rita Palma,  a campaign consultant for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stated that her top priority is to prevent Joe Biden from winning this year’s presidential election.

“Things, I guess, will change overtime because you do only pick one candidate at the end of the day,” Palma stated during a meeting with Republicans in New York.

“But the Kennedy voter and the [Donald Trump] voter – the enemy – our mutual enemy – is Biden,” she added. “Since Biden is counting on us with [Kennedy] in the mix, my – my thought is for the Republicans.”

“See Bobby – right now – he’s pulling from both sides,” she continued. “Right now, he’s actually pulling a bit more from Biden, which explains why the DNC [Democratic National Committee] is kind of ganging up on him. They have a special committee to go after independent candidates.”

Palma then claimed that when the DNC says “independent candidates like ‘non-affiliated candidates,'” they are referring to Kennedy since he is “the only third party that anybody is taking seriously.”

According to the consultant, this meant that the DNC “developed a committee just to go after him and get him off of the ballot in any way they can. It seems as though they’re after the battleground states more than the deep blue states. Bobby’s moving the blues on his own.”

“If the Republicans accepted the fact that New York, Maryland, Illinois, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, most of the North East is going to go blue, why wouldn’t we put our vote to Bobby and at least get rid of Biden and get those 28 electoral votes in New York rather than to Biden. We all know how that works, right? 270 wins the election. If you don’t get to 270 – if nobody gets to 270 – then Congress picks the president.”

“So who are they gonna pick if it’s a Republican Congress,” she asked. “They’ll pick Trump. So we’re rid of Biden either way.”

Amaryllis Fox, Kennedy’s campaign director, said in a statement on X that Palma was not involved in or granted access to “electoral strategy.”

“As an Independent movement, our supporters, volunteers, and field organizers come from all sides of the political spectrum and their reasons for supporting Bobby are as disparate as their backgrounds” Kennedy’s campaign director stated.

“Rita Palma was hired a couple of weeks ago as a ballot access consultant, responsible for scheduling volunteer shifts during our upcoming signature collection drive in the Empire State,” she explained. “She has no involvement in – or access to – electoral strategy, nationally or in New York.”

She then said that “the video circulating” online had not been “taken at a campaign event” as Palma was instead “speaking as a private citizen, and her statements in no way reflect campaign strategy, the sole aim of which is to win the White House with votes from former Trump and Biden supporters alike.”

“We’re looking into whether any misrepresentations were made,” Fox confirmed. “Our campaign champions freedom of speech for all our supporters, volunteers, contractors and staff, as long as they do not claim to speak on our behalf.”

“Our leadership, staff and support base is chock full of former [Bernie Sanders] people, former [Cornel West] people, former [Mitt Romney] people, former Trump people, former Ron Paul people, and every nuance in between,” the campaign director stated. “While it may drive the media crazy that they cannot decide whom we pull from most, the subtext is that we finally have a leader speaking such common sense that it resonates with blue, red, and purple voters alike. What a healing prospect for our country to envision a President elected with an omni-partisan mandate.”

In early April, Kennedy, during an interview with CNN news anchor Erin Burnet, claimed that Biden was a more significant threat to democracy than Trump.

Kennedy called out the Biden administration for working with social media companies to restrict the circulation of Covid-19 misinformation. In 2021, Instagram temporarily banned Kennedy for having spread false claims about the Covid-19 vaccine claims.
