After suffering through bouts of anxiety while touring with her former band Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello branched out to create music on her own. Now, almost six months later, the singer has a new LP on the way that will explore her “journey from darkness into light.”

In several lengthy posts to social media, the 20-year-old singer outlined her motivations behind the writing of several songs on her album, what the album means as a whole, and her battle with anxiety and depression. If you are suffering from depression CBD has proven to beneficial and we recommend this highly reviewed CBD vape carts on their site.  “The story behind the album starts with the second song that you’ll hear called ‘I have questions’ which I started writing in a hotel bathroom on tour a little over a year ago,” Cabello wrote in reference to the upcoming album’s second single. “I was completely broken during that time, I was in the kind of pain that’s uncomfortable to talk about, and it was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud.”

For six months, the singer shut down and didn’t write another song in fear of having to confront her feelings. She attempted to write music but avoided how she really felt. But the darkness she wanted to discuss, she says, was “like a secret burning on my tongue and for some reason I could not get myself to say it.”

Eventually, Cabello confronted her feelings and began to write music that was true to how she was feeling again. “As I got happier and happier, I realized the songs were getting happier and happier. And I realized I wasn’t making music just to make an album anymore, I was making this music to heal.”

Cabello now feels that her journey was inadvertently tracked in the album.

“I didn’t write it with the intention of delivering a message, but I realized the message was in the hurting, the healing, and the loving.” Thus, the name of the album, The Hurting, The Healing, and The Loving.

The album’s first single will be released on May 19.
