The former Fifth Harmony singer proved she can fly solo with the success of her self-titled debut album in 2018. Now, she is ready to release her second studio album Romance, which is reportedly going to detail a real account of her relationship with the Canadian heartthrob, an account different from what is normally said in the tabloids about the famous couple.
Onstage recently at an event in a small California studio, the pop star dished about a mysterious man who she shared a very special relationship with and described it as her first experience with true love. She went on to explain that she started off as friends with this man and that things changed with a kiss in San Francisco one day in July.
Everyone knew Cabello was talking about the “If I Can’t Have You” singer, but she is often reluctant to say her beau’s name publicly. She is fearful that his name “just contributes to the pop-culture circus” and distracts the media from the “real” relationship and feelings they have for each other.
“That’s my boyfriend. This is real,” she stated in an interview with Sun Sentinel.
If there is one thing the Cuban talent is not reluctant to do, it is spilling all her emotions about her romance with Mendes in song.
The singer has already dropped a total of five Romance tracks, including “Liar,” “Easy,” “Shameless,” “Cry for Me” and “Living Proof,” which all explore the young celebrity romance.
“Living Proof” is the latest single and debuted at the 2019 American Music Awards. The performance was similar to the music video with its Vincent van Gogh-inspired ensemble and colorful, shrubbery backdrop. The heavenly single is intimate and expresses a charm and mesmerization over her new beau. Throughout its 3:14 track length, she asks questions like “Where did you come from, baby?” and “And were you sent to save me?”
Romance is scheduled to release on December 4.
