Cameron Diaz Says She's Retired From The Spotlight
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have tied the knot after a whirlwind courtship and engagement.
Diaz, 42 and Madden, 35, “were married [Monday] evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles,” a rep for the couple confirmed to People magazine.
In their own words, the newly married pair added, “We couldn’t be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends.”
Diaz and Madden hosted about 90 family members and close friends at their home for the nuptials. Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Madden were among the high-profile attendees. Barrymore was one of the bridesmaids and Sparrow, Joel Madden and Nicole Ritchie’s son, was the ring bearer.
The ceremony reportedly took place inside the mansion, while the reception was held in a tent on the grounds.
“It was a big wedding, but they still managed to make it feel very personal. Only their families and very special friends attended,” a source told People. “It all felt very down-to-earth and sweet. Guests arrived smiling and almost seemed giddy. Everyone was excited to be a part of the wedding.”
Diaz and Madden first went public as a couple back in May. Madden proposed just before they celebrated Christmas. It’s the first marriage for both stars.
