Cameron Diaz defended her co-star Jamie Foxx in Back in Action after rumors about him misbehaving on set have been spreading.

Foxx’s actions on set have been called into question, specifically how one person said he made “everything miserable and that I was never gonna make another movie again because of him.”

Diaz spoke about Foxx during an episode of Lipstick on the Rim with Molly Sims.

Diaz, who has previously worked with the actor on two other films, described Foxx as a “cheerleader for the entire crew.” She also added that “everybody loved him.”

Diaz praised Foxx, saying, “Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person, and he’s so talented, so much fun. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level.”

Diaz was clear that she disputed the rumors about Foxx’s professionalism.

“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set,” she said. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?'”

The rumors specifically said that Foxx was making work on set “miserable” and made Diaz want to quit acting after taking a ten-year break.

Diaz also referenced Foxx’s recent medical emergency while on set for the upcoming film in Atlanta.

“The hiccups that happened throughout the production are the natural kinds of things that happen, but nothing got delayed other than, obviously, toward the end,” she said.

The actress did not go into specifics about Foxx’s health or what happened on set, but she did confirm that his recovery is going well, sharing that he is “thriving.”

Foxx refused to address these rumors, which Diaz called “classy.”

She explained, “He’s like, ‘Nope. Just let them [talk]. We know the truth. Still, it just really made me angry.”

The actor had to take a brief break from acting due to his health in April.

Nick Cannon took over his hosting role in the meantime on Beat Shazam. He spoke about his recovery in a birthday post on his Instagram account, writing, “I wanna start by saying thank you to everyone that prayed for me when I was in a bad way. I NEEDED EVERY PRAYER … you lifted me through … I was able to make it to today because of your prayers.”

Diaz was recently in the news when she revealed that she was “possibly a drug mule” during her early days as an actress.
