Cameron Crowe‘s Heart must be breaking. The Almost Famous director is splitting from his wife of 24 years, Nancy Wilson.

Wilson’s filing in Los Angeles cited irreconcilable differences, stating that the couple has been separated since 2008. They have 10-year-old twin sons together. Wilson has asked for joint physical and legal custody and is also seeking spousal support.

Crowe won an Oscar for the autobiographical rock journalism flick Almost Famous, while Wilson fronted the successful 80’s pop group, Heart. Husband and wife worked together on several films, with Wilson scoring Vanilla Sky and Jerry Maguire, among other projects.

Crowe, 53, and Wilson, 56, were introduced in 1982 by Wilson’s manager. The director is currently working on a Pearl Jam concert film. –AMY LEE
