Olympic gold medal winner Caitlyn Jenner slammed Joe Biden and the White House on X after they created a social media post recognizing the Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter.
The Transgender Day of Visibility was created on March 31, 2009, and has always been held on this day. The day recognizes important transgender people and highlights the discrimination trans people face. Easter falls between March 22 and April 25 and falls on a different day different every year. This year, Easter fell on March 31.
The White House put out a statement acknowledging this day as a formality as this date has already been set and the administration already has plans to celebrate the holiday.
Biden stated, “Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”
Jenner took to X to condemn Biden to this statement, proclaiming, “I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days – a self-proclaimed devout Catholic – as Transgender Day of Visibility. The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen’.”
One commenter called out Jenner, saying, “Don’t weaponize your own stupidity like this. March 31st is TDOV every year, and Google is free.”
Jenner, who is transgender herself and is the father of reality stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner, has expressed controversial opinions about the LBGTQ community in the past. She has criticized the community by calling them the “radical rainbow mafia.”
Jenner has lost many of her LGBTQ friends over her right-wing views. Former friend Candis Cayne called Jenner a “Fox News cult member.”
