Caitlyn Jenner Is Warming Up To Gay Marriage

Caitlyn Jenner recently voiced her opinions on gay marriage on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, stating that she can “go with it.”

CAITLYN JENNER OPPOSED GAY MARRIAGE

Jenner, 65, who has recently come out as a transgender woman, was not always for gay marriage.

“I have to admit that, I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago, whatever it was when the whole gay marriage issue came up: at first I was not for it,” Jenner told Ellen DeGeneres. “I mean, I thought… I’m a traditionalist. I’m older than most people in the audience, you know? I mean, I kind of like tradition, and, you know, it’s always been a man and a woman, and I´m thinking, ‘I don’t quite get it.’ But as time has gone on, I think like, a lot of people on this issue have really changed their thinking here to ‘I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness,’ you know? That’s not my job.”

Jenner did not seem wholly convinced of the virtue of gay marriage, stating that, “If that word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.”

Although Jenner is still a bit unsure of the whole concept of marriage equality, she seems to be warming up to the idea.

When asked if she would now be dating men or women, Jenner avoided answering the question directly. “Everybody wants to have a partner,” she said. “Everybody wants to have, would love to have a family, and for trans people, sometimes that can be extraordinarily difficult to do. And so, it is an issue that’s big in the community. For me, I’m at such a different place in life. I have, I already have too many children,” she joked. “But yes, would I like to find a partner in life to share my life with? Yeah, I’m sure I will at some point.”
