Caitlyn Jenner spoke to students at the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, and explained why she wasn’t a Democrat.
“I have gotten more flak for being a conservative Republican than I have for being trans,” Jenner told a group of Penn students, after being asked why she wasn’t a Democrat.
Journalist and author Buzz Bissinger, who was listed as the evening’s interviewer pointed out, “Just because you change gender doesn’t mean you change your core beliefs.”
However, Jenner appeared on Ellen back in September and spoke about how her conservative views on gay marriage have changed.
“At first I was not for it… but as time has gone, I think, like a lot of people on this issue, have really changed their thinking here to: ‘I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness,’ you know? That’s not my job,”’Jenner said.
