This past weekend, The Blind Side, starring Sandra Bullock, crossed the $200 million mark in the domestic box office – the first time that a film driven only by a female star has done so. (Julia Roberts’ best domestic take was $174 million for Pretty Woman.) The movie is based on the true story of Baltimore Ravens rookie Michael Oher, and crosses the genres of family drama and sports movie. With only five sports movies ahead of it on the all time list, Bullock’s record breaking may be just getting warmed up.
