Sandra Bullock has filed and obtained a renewed temporary restraining order against a longtime stalker whom Bullock claimed has been repeatedly attempting to contact her since 2003 via e-mails and faxes.
Thomas James Weldon, 41, previously received two three-year permanent restraining orders, the latest of which expired in 2009. A hearing for an updated order against Weldon is scheduled for August 6. With a renewed paperwork, Bullock hopes to protect herself as well as her 7-month-old son Louis Bardo , whom she is currently working to adopt.
Last month, Weldon appeared at a Wyoming emergency room claiming to have driven from a mental institution in Tennessee and told doctors he was suffering from anxiety and insomnia. He also reportedly told hospital staff he was trying to meet Bullock at her home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Weldon admitted he had not been taking his medications and claimed he has communicated with Bullock telepathically.
In addition to Bullock and her adoptive son, the restraining order request also lists her nanny, housekeeper and assistant as those needing protection from Weldon. –Natthakan Garunrangseewong
