Bruce Willis Thanks First Responders Of Los Angeles Wildfires Amid Dementia Battle

As the Los Angeles wildfires that erupted on Tuesday continue to tear across Southern California, Bruce Willis has made a point to show his support for first responders.

In a video Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis posted to Instagram on Thursday, Willis is seen shaking the hands of members of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Emma captioned the post, “Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a ’Thank you for your service’,” and added, “Yesterday was no different.” Emma had ‘Going to California’ by Led Zepplin playing in the background of the post and reposted the video on her story, writing across it, “To all first responders: Thank you for your service.”

Willis’ daughter Tallulah commented on the post, “This makes my heart so freaking full.”

Willis’ appearance out and about is particularly noteworthy given how the actor has distanced himself from the public eye since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.

Although Willis has not made public appearances in the last few years, he has recently been seen on his family member’s social media accounts multiple times. Most recently, on December 29, Emma posted a tribute celebrating the couple’s 17th anniversary.

In the caption, she shared, “Anniversaries used to bring excitement – now, if I’m honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach.”

She followed up, “I give myself 30 minutes to sit in the ‘why him, why us,’ to feel the anger and grief. Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is… is unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat 💞.”

Emma and Willis met in 2007 and were married in 2009. The two have raised two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, in addition to Willis’ three children Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, who he shares with his ex-wife Demi Moore.
