M. Night Shyamalan is in the process of making a sequel to his 2002 hit Unbreakable. Both original stars, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson, have signed on for the project.
The sequel is titled Glass and is set for release on Jan. 18, 2019. Shyamalan had been teasing the film for weeks and finally announced the official news on Wednesday morning.
“It’s taken 17 years but I can finally answer the #1 question I get, ‘Are you making a f#&@ing sequel to Unbreakable or what?'” the tweet read. “My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film.”
Turns out Glass will be a sequel to both Unbreakable and his most recent film Split, which earned more than $275 million worldwide. In the end of that film, Willis shows up, revealing that it and Unbreakable take place in the same cinematic universe. Star of Split James McAvoy will also return for the sequel.
