Sylvester Stallone shared some sad news about his friend Bruce Willis, 67, who announced retirement in March 2022 after his aphasia diagnosis.
“Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times,” Stallone told THR. “So he’s been sort of incommunicado.”
“That kills me, it’s so sad,” he added.
Aphasia is a language disorder that affects how one communicates.
In March this year, Willis’ family took to social media and shared his diagnosis with the disease: “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”
Also in the post, Willis’ family announced that he is “stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
Stallone was one of the first friends of Willis’ to respond to the announcement. He uploaded an old photo of Willis and him on Instagram, captioning, “We go back a long way, praying for the best for you and your wonderful family…”
