Bruce Springsteen has postponed two dates of his upcoming concerts in Philadelphia with the E Street Band due to illness.
It was not shared what illness Springsteen is battling, but his team announced the news on Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter.
“Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed,” they wrote. “We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows.”
Many fans are disappointed by the news as some had already traveled to Philadelphia from far away.
This is not the first time the singer’s show has been canceled throughout his 2023 tour. Springsteen contracted COVID, forcing him to postpone previous concerts in Ohio and at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. In addition, he and his wife, Patti Scialfa, were supposed to attend the inaugural American Music Awards in April, but they had to cancel.
The tour began on February 1 and was meant to end in April, but Springsteen added 18 more dates in North America. These new shows started this month as the singer traveled through Europe and the United Kingdom in May, June and July.
