Bruce Springsteen has announced on social media that he and his E Street Band’s September tour dates will be delayed, starting with a September 7 date at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.
Dates in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Uncasville, Albany, Columbus and Washington, D.C., were also affected. Springsteen previously delayed two Philadelphia shows last month due to an illness. Though no details were given, the tour dates for the Philadelphia concerts were officially rescheduled for August 2024.
Springsteen is currently being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease, which is a break in the stomach’s inner lining. Symptoms include abdominal pain and loss of appetite. A total of eight shows have been affected. Treatment includes stopping smoking and alcohol use and taking medications to lower stomach acid.
An official statement on Instagram read, “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. We’ll be back soon. Love and God bless all, Bruce.”
Springsteen 2023 tour started on February 1 in Tampa, Florida, with the tour scheduled to end on December 12 in San Francisco.

Before the peptic ulcer diagnosis, Springsteen’s tour had been without any issues, despite a brief fall The Boss suffered during an Amsterdam performance in May.
The tour’s new ending date is unknown after the postponement. However, he is set to return touring on November 3 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. All shows Springsteen has scheduled in Vancouver and after have not been affected.
