Bruce Jenner Wasn’t Texting Before Accident; Photographs Show Former Olympian Smoking Cigarette
Bruce Jenner, along with all of the other drivers involved in the fatal accident in Malibu over the weekend, was asked to turn his cell phone records over to police. Jenner has denied texting prior to the crash, and newly released pictures show that Jenner was holding a cigarette – not a phone – before it occurred.
Bruce Jenner Wasn’t Texting
Jenner’s publicist Alan Nierob has stated that the Keeping Up with the Kardashian‘s star will hand over his cell phone records, and that the evidence therein will show that he was not engaged on his phone at the time of the accident that killed a 69-year-old woman.
“The evidence will show that Bruce was not texting at the time of the accident,” Nierob said in a statement. Jenner said in his own statement he would cooperate with the investigation “in every way possible.”
Furthermore, there is evidence that Jenner was holding a cigarette at the time of the accident in pictures obtained by TMZ.
Leading up to the crash, a Toyota Prius came to an unexpected stop on the Pacific Coast Highway. The Lexus sedan traveling behind the Prius slammed on the brakes. Behind the Lexus, in an effort to avoid a collision, Jenner hit the breaks of his Cadillac Escalade and pulled the wheel to the right. The front of the Lexus ended up swinging into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by a Hummer. The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene.
“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner added in his statement. “It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them.”
It has yet to be determined who was at fault for the accident.
