Brooklyn Decker attended the Keds Women’s Equality Day Event and shared advice on the panel.

BROOKLYN DECKER ATTENDS KEDS WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY EVENT

Decker is an actress, model, businesswoman, and mother, who is committed to showing other women that they can be more than just one thing. She recently launched a “wardrobe operating system” called Finery with her friend Whitney Casey.

Keds brought together female executives from various companies to talk about gender equality in the world and in the workplace. “Today, we create shoes that take women wherever they want to go,” said Keds CMO Emily Culp. “Our shoes are a path to freedom, and we like days like today where we can celebrate what we’ve stood for for over a century.”

Fellow panelists with Decker were SoulCycle CEO Melanie Whelan, founding partner of Female Founders Fund Anu Duggal, co-founder and CEO of IT Cosmetics Jamie Kern Lima, and CEO and founder of S’well Sarah Krauss.

“You have to have an appetite for risk if you’re starting a company,” Kauss said. “There are challenges facing you every minute, but you can acknowledge that every one of them has a silver lining. Every risk you thought would be the end of the whole company… we always solved it and became better for it.”

Decker wore a modest white minidress with buttons heading down her torso. She paired the outfit with rose gold Jimmy Choo heels, and her makeup and accessories were kept simple. Decker is expecting her second child with husband Andy Roddick, and is due around Thanksgiving. Her baby bump was showing through her dress, and she cradled it as she spoke at the event.

“Thank you to @keds and @lola for having the women of @yourfinery along with the CEO of @soulcycle @itcosmetics @swellbottle & Female Founders Fund. Whew! As someone who is new in business, I learned so much from these awesome ladies last night. It was such a treat! #womensequalityday.”
