Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, has signed a professional contract with the English Premiere League's Arsenal Gunners.

Brooklyn Beckham Signs With Arsenal

Brooklyn, 15, has played on the youth academy teams, but has now signed on with Arsenal in a professional capacity after impressing the coaching staff, including well-respected manager Arsene Wenger.

“Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played,” an unnamed Arsenal source told the Daily Star. “He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club. Arsenal realize he can be a huge talent. They have seen that potential and protected their asset."

Apparently, Brooklyn had also stoked interest in his father's old team Manchester United, as well as Chelsea FC. Despite David's history with Man U, the family also has strong ties with Arsenal. “The club has signed him, fending off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the meantime," the source told the Star. “The Beckhams have a strong link with Arsenal despite David’s Manchester United past. David has a good relationship with manager Arsène Wenger. Brooklyn really has potential. Wenger was impressed with his talent, his attitude and his drive to succeed.”

Brooklyn's younger brothers Romeo and Cruz are in the Arsenal feeder program. Romeo plays for the U13s, while Cruz is with the U10s.

David Beckham, who offiically retired from professional soccer in 2013, started out as a trainee with Manchester United when he was 16. By 19, he made his debut with the EPL squad and went on to win six league titles with the team.
