Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has spoken out against Buffalo Bills fans. Following the Chiefs’ recent AFC Championship victory, Brittany took to Instagram to express her outrage over a specific image circulating social media.

The controversy stems from a Kermit the Frog doll dressed in a wig and Patrick Mahomes jersey, a nod to comparisons made about Mahomes’ distinct voice. The doll was allegedly hanged in effigy during pre-game festivities. Images of the scene went viral just before the much-anticipated clash between the two AFC powerhouses at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. Brittany shared an image of the display on her Instagram Stories.

“Do we remember this Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting…,” Brittany wrote. “So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.”

Patrick, on the other hand, remained unfazed publicly. Following the game, the 29-year-old NFL star shared the iconic meme of a content Kermit sipping tea on his X account.

The incident involving the Kermit the Frog doll has added fuel to the already intense rivalry between Kansas City and Buffalo. Over the past few seasons, the two teams have emerged as AFC powerhouses, meeting in high-stakes games that often have playoff or championship implications.

On Sunday, the Chiefs and Bills faced off for the second time this year, with the reigning Super Bowl champions securing a 32-29 win at Arrowhead Stadium, earning a spot in their third consecutive championship game.

Brittany, who has three children with Mahomes, her husband of almost three years, celebrated on the field after Sunday’s game alongside Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The AFC Championship victory puts the Chiefs on track to possibly make history with a third straight Super Bowl title. Patrick Mahomes and his teammates, including Kelce, have openly discussed the potential “three-peat” throughout the season.

The 2025 Super Bowl takes place on Sunday, Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
