Britney Spears‘s new fiancé, Sam Asghari, posted a message to all of Spear’s fans who are telling her to get a prenup.
The couple confirmed their engagement this weekend on Spear’s Instagram with a post showing off her new ring.
Immediately comments began to flood the post congratulating the couple, but many commenters instead offered her a piece of advice, to get a prenup before marrying him.
Asghari responded to those fans with a message on his Instagram Story.
“My phone exploded today! Thank you for the overwhelming love and congratulations,” he wrote. “We both love every single one of you! Thank you for your concern about the prenup! Of course, we’re getting iron-clad prenup to protect my Jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.”
Spears and her father, James Spears, have already begun to work on arranging a prenup.
This news comes days after her father filed to end her conservatorship, after a controversial battle to keep it in place. In court, Britney accused her father of abuse.
James needs to be part of the prenup process since he is still her estate conservator.
No details have been shared about the star’s wedding plans yet.
